We are happy to announce our strategic partnership with Tanso to simplify Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculation and exchange in Catena-X. Founded in 2021, Tanso is a Munich-based company specializing in carbon accounting and sustainability compliance for industrial companies, e.g., via the PCF.
The PCF captures an item’s emissions across its entire life cycle. Calculating the PCF means gathering data from along the supply chain, including raw material, production and transportation. When an OEM requests this data, suppliers often face hours of manual effort, trawling emails, spreadsheets and other sources. That is why more and more players in the automotive industry trust Catena-X, one standardized, yet sovereign way to exchange data.
Together with Tanso, we are responding to these OEM requests to suppliers: registration in Catena-X is now a formal part of the major manufacturers’ purchasing process, with PCFs calculated according to the Catena-X Rulebook and exchanged through the Catena-X data space. In a joint setup this means Tanso covers the calculation, sovity the exchange.
What Tanso delivers
Tanso delivers PCF calculation in accordance with ISO 14067 and the Catena-X Rulebook v4, including primary data, Primary Data Share (PDS), and Data Quality Rating (DQR). The underlying methodology was developed together with the VDMA and is TÜV-certified for both corporate and product carbon footprints.
What sovity delivers
We have specialized in data spaces since 2016 and are a Qualified Advisor and Onboarding Partner in Catena-X. Our product Quintari is a Catena-X Certified Solution and handles the certified, sovereign exchange of that data across the entire value chain.
